Just wondered if anyone has managed to see it yet, and if so what do you think? I saw a few clips on Jonathan Ross and it just seemed to be endless fighting. I still can't wait to see it though!
Just saw it yesterday and i loved it. Its an instant classic in my book. Its more than just endless fighting , It has a great plot. The best fighting scenes that i have ever seen.
At least the violence is so overdrawn that its watchable.
I hated J. Brown and Pulp Fiction
Essentially a Comic as a movie.
The end of part 1 sucks though. Probably only really good if part 2 is out. Leaves like the Matrix Reloaded a bad feeling when you exit the cinema. OK, what now oh its over
Yep. Saw it last night and it is the best of the year so far. I agree with Matt B that cutting in half is scandalous. Hopefully the DVD will be complete and uncut.
saw it yesterday-LOVED IT.I used to have an irrational hatred for tarantino-he was everywhere and it bugged me-but this was amazing-worth the wait. The fighting pissed all over the matrix-and it wasnt predictable.
I think it's about time someone redressed the balance here.
I saw Kill Bill earlier tonight and I thought, by Quentin Tarantino standarRAB, it was boring. The Yakuza fight sequence was drawn out and overstyled. Uma Thurman made a second rate kung fu movie heroine. The soundtrack was scrappy and badly used. The fight choreography was unimaginative. The movie references were so overdone there was barely anything else in the film and the all too familiar disjointed timeline is becoming self parodic (I can only guess that was QT's intention).
If Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction had never been made then maybe I wouldn't have been so critical. If Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon didn't exist then perhaps I'd have expected a little less. If there had never been a Bruce Lee or a Jackie Chan then maybe Kill Bill would've done it for me. As it was I was unconvinced and for the large part just bored.
Lucy Liu did look fantastic though, as ever so at least there was something nice to look at.
