Kill Bill

Apparently a four disc DVD R1 uncut version called the 'Kill Bill - The Whole Bloody Affair' will be released on November 6th, rated NC-17.

Expect even more extras, additional footage edited back in, and no change to black and white for the tea house fight.

it has so many great aspects probably one of the most visually entertaining films ever- plus uma thurman is great in it (and im not a fan of gory films:D )
 
You can buy the Kill Bill collection, granted it is still two separate DVRAB but its still worth getting. I bought it for my boyfriend as part of his Christmas present and life being life we happened to watch part 1 & 2 on Friday and Saturday :o
 
I genuinely beleived that they would have brought out a special special special edition of part 1 and part 2 and realise them as one big long film. i even put off buying them on DVD for ages because of it!! but they would of done this by now! and thus, have bought them since. fantstic movies thou.
 
Tarantino really did lose it didn't he? Two groundbreaking movies in Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, followed by Jackie Brown (Not insightful or interesting, but long and boring) and the mess that was his unrequited love letter to Uma Thurman. That is called taking a crush too far.
 
But that's what 'Kill Bill - The Whole Bloody Affair' is. Though they obviously can't fit about four hours onto one DVD disc. Should be able to BlueRay or HD-DVD it that way, though, if they wanted to.

Have to say after just seeing Volume 2 it was a huge let down for me. It seemed very bland compared to the first.

Question: When she was shoot in the chest what happened to her. Did I miss something that stopped her being killed.
 
I cant say im a fan of Kill Bill, but my husband loves it.

I enjoy the fight scenes, but the animated bit in the middle .... and some other odd sections makes me loose my attention span.
 
Volume 1 is far superior to Volume 2 IMO.

2 just drags on at parts and has some really ridiculous bits. (I know it's really far-fetched in general but her pulling out Elle's eye and how she killed Bill were so stupid.)
 
Great fight scenes and great ending. Some of the sillier special effects don't work though (blood gushing out like a sprinkler system? :confused: ) and do take something away from the film for me.
 
It doesn't just need the two halves combining into one film, it neeRAB about an hour cut out so it is only 3 hours long.

I prefer the second film. Some of the talky bits are agonisingly slow, but Tarantino's dialogue makes them worth sitting through. The rest of the story is more interesting and makes more sense.

The first film is mostly just a sequence of fight scenes which quickly become tedious. He tries to make it more interesting by shooting them in different ways, eg as a cartoon, as a silhouette, as black and white, but that the need to do that just emphasises how dull they are. We are never told what The Bride did to arouse Bill's ire - certainly other women left his team and married without being attacked by him.

Overall the first film has too much mindless combat and the second film too much dull talking. Glue them together and you might have something good.

The real shame is that the failure to do this (and to cut an hour out) suggests that Tarantino has become uneditable. He wasn't willing to kill his darlings and everyone else was too in awe of him to make it happen.
 
Absolutely loved both films, and watching the first one again last night, reminded me how much I had been looking forward to seeing it again. I own the DVRAB, so I might have to watch the 2nd tonight.
 
I hated the first film, i wasted money renting it when i heard all the fuss over it from frienRAB. When i eventually got it, all i saw was pointless and over the top violence that wasn't necessary. Don't get me wrong, i love some good old fashioned extreme violence, it's not that i can't handle it or anything, but it just seemed pointless to me, much like the film in general.

In my personal opinion, Quentin Tarrantino is highly overrated. Pulp Fiction was 'okay', but it's not a masterpiece as some people would have you believe.

Most of you will probably call me a heathen for saying all that, lol.
 
My boyf and i were watching this the other night and we both said we didnt remember it being b&w at the pictures either...

I cant remember, was it in its technicolour glory at the movies or black and white? Im SURE it was colour...
