Does anyone now if there will be a special edition DVD containing both films, and if so has there been an official release date set?

Im pretty sure there will be, maybe near Christmas. I can also see at some point in the furture Vol 1 & 2 being joined together for one long film on DVD. Saw Quentin Tarantino on Jonathan Ross some time back now and he did say it was meant to be one movie, it just got too long! So there's a maybe there, but probably not for a long time yet.

No doubt the studio will allow all the fans to buy the individual films first - and then 6 months later announce that there will be a boxset with an additional dvd of extras!!

Tarantino has hawked a splicced together version around some festivals and conventions recently, saying that it's the best way to see it. A 'one movie' edit on DVD would be great, a 2-disc set with proper extras would be even better IMO.

A proper 2 disc set with special features would be great but I would love a "one movie" edit, and im sure once we've all bought the seperate DVD's, then the boxset Mr Tarintino will probably produce the one movie version! Does anyone think he'll be sneaky and release the one movie version at the cinema first? Maybe in a year or 2 time!

Kill Bill I & II

I really hope the ONE movie is together on ONE DVD disc. (With DTS and DD 5.1 sound) With nothing else on that disc to obtain optimum picture and sound.

Movie and audio commentary all on another!!

Extra features on the rest of the disc(s).

Would it be possible to fit the whole film (parts 1 and 2) onto one disk though? Even the extended Lord of the Rings films are only just over 3 hours but had to be split onto 2 disks.........

How much recording time is there on a standard dvd?

Quentin Tarantino intended the film to be shown as one. It was Miramax who insisted the film was too long , plus with the added bonus of showing it in 2 parts would bring in double the revenue.

The whole film would be about 3hrs and 45 minutes long, to fit it on 1 disc you would have to strip out any extras and only have sound tracks related to the film.

Well, maybe Bill blocked the "Five Point Heart Exploding technique" and was pretending (!)

A prequel is really the only way; there can be another Kill Bill without it being ridiculous.

Yeah a prequel would be the only way to go. It would make the entire 3hrs 45 minutes of the 1st volumes a total waste if time if they made a sequel, it would ruin it for me if they did, but I would be interested in a prequel and that way they could involve all the character who may or may not!! :) have met their maker in Vol 1 & 2

Tarantino has stated that if he made a third Kill Bill film it would be made in 15 years and would feature Vivian Fox characters daughter who would go for revenge after Uma Thurman. Tarantino has already joked that he would call it Kill Bride but he also stated that Kill Bride was a very cheesy title.
There was also talk about animated prequels but I am unsure if they will ever happen. So if you are going to wait for the third film then you will have a very long wait for the ultimate boxset!

Yeah I think that the animated prequels would anime like the one part in Vol 1. However I havnt heard anything to confirm the prequels have been definatly being made and I think it maybe like the Animatrix and released straight onto DVD!
