So I think I was stupid enough to have just gotten scammed on kijiji this week 
I replied to an ad selling Iphone 3gs' and they were selling 16GB for $300 which I thought was sweet...
So I contacted them and they wanted to do an EMT transaction instead of paypal. The person seemed nice enough, even gave me a "her" name (not sure if it was real or not) so I did send them the money.
Initially they said it would be shipped within 24hrs and so I waited but no e-mail. So I e-mailed for a tracking number and they said will give it to me asap. The day goes by and still no e-mail about shipping!
I started reading about scams on kijiji and got really paranoid so I e-mailed them about "when the item was going to be shipped or did I just get scammed". They reply saying that it was already shipped. But when I wrote back to try and get a tracking number to confirm the shipment, this so called seller did not reply to the 2 emails I sent asking about it.
Would a scammer even bother e-mailing you back after they get the money?
Anyone seen this number before 1 - 289 - 441 - 4644?
They gave me this # but the area code is nowhere near where near the area they had listed that the item was coming from. And I noticed that the add was removed shortly after my payment was recieved.
I'm about 90% sure I just got scammed but wanted people's opinions. What should I do?
Should I continue e-mailing them, attempting to contact them about the item?
This way I will have record when I go to make a police report. I know I lost my money but no way I'm gonna let this liar get away with it.
