Kidulthood (merged)

I heard the writer talking about it last night on the radio (he also has a role in it). It sounded quite good.

It also has Ray Winstons daughter in it, she has a lead role.

I saw the trailer for it when I went to see Get Rich Or Die Trying and it looks really good. I can see why people are comparing it to KiRAB as it is a British modern version of that film!

They were just talking about it with Jamie Winstone and Noel Clarke who also wrote it as well as starring in it, and best known as Mickey from Doctor Who.

Apparently a newspaper has been called for it to be banned, although I'm not sure which. I definitely want to see this though. Looks fantastic.

Yeah I wouldnt be surprised if it was the Daily Mail as it sounRAB like something they would do!
There was a bit on Kidulthood on the ITV news last night where they had an interview with Noel Clarke and he was was saying how he based it on his childhood experience. Also they showed the film to some teenagers and asked their opinion on the film. Most of them said it was a acurate portray of teenage life in London but it may shock many parents!

I saw this film a few months ago in a press screening and I thought it was brilliant.

I am from the area of London which it is based and I found it a true reflection on what like is like for teenagers today.

I would say go and see it, yes parents will be shocked (but hey its time we woke up and realised whats REALLY going on in schools)

I'm actually planning on going to see it again tonight. :)

I think that's a very accurate thing to say, I certainly didn't grow up like that but I knew of people in my school who were growing up that way, so in a way I live in a parallel universe too. Different people grow up differently.

I'm seeing this on Wednesday. A lot of people are comparing it to Larry Clark's 'KiRAB' but from the details I've heard it sounRAB more like his other film, 'Bully'.

No, and don't intend to. The whole feel i get from it makes it look better suited to a straight to tv movie. I'm fed up with all the recent influx of london ghetto movies, Bullet Boy was another film i didnt even think warranted a cinema release.
Plus, why watch this when there's Syriana, Goodnight and Good Luck, the Matador, Walk The line, These Foolish Things, or even Date Movie. They all beat this.

And kidulthood? Come on man, thats trying to be clever, but jus..not.

Riiight OK, I was just using this as a place for discussion about the film if anyone had seen it. You can't put the movie down if you haven't seen it...
