Kids' WB! Flashback: Holiday Sock Party

If you're a true Kids' WB! fan you have got to remember the Holiday Sock Parties in December. Nothing is better than watching Saturday Morning Cartoons and having a holiday decorated hosting the entire block.

I'm totally remembering the days when Kids WB would have all those commercials of their characters "interacting" which were really poorly photoshopped animations from episodes with dubbed over lines.

The poorness in value will stick with me always--

I believe that picture of Jade is taken from the episode "Queen of the Shadowkhan," in which Jade tattoos herself, and gains control over the Shadowkhan.

When was the last Holiday Sock Party, anyway? I know they had one in 2005, but I don't remember one after that.
 
Shoot, I was looking for a picture online of the sock for weeks, but absolutely nothing turned up. And now that the day I publish Kids WB Yourself arrives, there's one now.
 
Ah, more of the infamous Kids WB Recycled-Stock-Footage(TM) promos, particularly the ones with that stupid sock-thing. Though the Holiday Sock Party things weren't as bad as the promo of Meowth and Sylvester sitting around a toilet flushing it repeatedly and singing some toilet version of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" (with Wakko from "Potty Emergency" thrown in for good measure)...
 
I actually brought one sock and wore it when I watched this. I taped almost all the segments, too.

I liked the Holiday sock until they used him for everything.
 
*All* of Kids' WB's promos used Recycled Stock Footage(TM) of the characters (often the same limited footage: the Warners singing and dancing in place, Sylvester hopping up and down while clapping his hands or pointing at something while talking, Pinky laughing, etc.). During their high point, various fanfic writers bashed such awful promos pretty heavily in ANimaniacs/Pinky and the Brain fan fiction... :-p

Another memory from Kids' WB. Looking back, I do see how horrible the quality of the character interactions were, but I thought that's how they were suppose to be back then anyway. Anyway, I thought that the Holiday Sock Party theme was cute and fun, but I did get find the Sock more annoying when they used him for more things beside the Sock Party. Just like with all of their character interactions, I thought that it was cute, fun and cheesy, which usually made me interested in it enough times to watch through the whole block. Good times, good times.
 
Speaking of wb sock parties, does anyone remember kids wb doing something with that bad lou bega song "mambo #5" a long time ago. I vaguely remember a commercial with that song it it on kids wb.
 
Yep... complete with his songs' lyrics redone to match describing the various KWB characters---who through the magic of Recycled Stock Footage(TM) "interacted" with Bega... thus stuff like footage of Kalibak fighting Superman (from S:TAS' "Father's Day" episode IIRC) moving back and forth together to his "Mambo Mambo" song (as if they were dancing)... :-p

Same for when the Barenaked Ladies hosted (with the initial promos for the event being called "Naked Day"---which they changed the name of once, apparently, someone thought better of that given it's a kids' lineup...). Vaguely recall Elmyra "singing" one of their songs (with Pinky in some bathtub, saying something about "washing behind his ears" and "laughing")...
 
Was interesting, in a train wreck sort of way. ;-)

Though unless it shows up online, I can't watch that Supes/Kalibak "mambo" clip again (I don't have Lou Bega Day on any of my old Kids WB tapes---I probably taped over it...).
