I am looking to upgrade my amp for my system, and I am stuck on which amp to get. The specs are listed below.
Kicker zx1000.1
# Class D mono subwoofer amplifier: Provides massive power to your subwoofer without drawing lots of power from your system.
# RMS Power Output
* 4 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan.
* 2 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan.
# Protection circuitry: Protects against short circuits, overloads, heat and reverse polarity.
# Expansion options: Speaker-level and RCA inputs make it easy to add on to your system.
# Variable crossover: LP(50 - 200 Hz)
# Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 95 dB
# Speaker and preamp level inputs
# Bass Boost: 0 - 18 dB
# Remote level control included
# 1/0-gauge power and ground leads recommended. Contact us for information regarding a discount on a select amplifier kit when purchased together.
Kenwood x1200m
# mono subwoofer amplifier
# 800 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (1,200 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
# stable to 1-ohm loads
# CEA-2006 compliant
# Dual Sigma Drive improves amp's control over cone movement
# two cooling fans
# variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz, -24 dB/octave)
# variable infrasonic filter (15-40 Hz, -24 dB/octave)
# optional remote bass boost
# Class-D amplifier design
# frequency response: 20-200 Hz
# preamp inputs and outputs
# fuse rating: fuse rating: 30A x 3
# 4-gauge power and ground leads recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
I have Audiobahn AW121T subwoofers, they are 550 watts RMS each, so 1100 watts RMS total.
They are 4 ohm SVC subs, I have them wired in parallel to carry a 2 Ohm load.
Just looking for any suggestions between the two here.
Thanks in advance
