KICKER COMP VR'S AND A TMA AMP PROBLEMS?

i was basically givin 3 kicker comp vr subs and a tma 1000 watt amp, i dont know much about subs but some time playing songs off my ipod it cuts in and out the speakers do i dont know why its doing that, the subs look new or newish the amp is about a year old, if the amp is bad what amp should i buy to power them subs? how many watts? but it can't be a very large amp because i have a single cab truck not much room
