Ok heres my setup and I think I might know the problem
Kicker ZX2500:1 Mono block amp-2500watts RMS
Two Kicker L7 15" Woofers
0Gauge Stinger Wiring
The amp is receiving a 2Ohm Load
The Gain is not turned up all the way..
Pioneer DEHP4000 Headunit
Ok, I can listen to rock and metal just fine at my volume on the head unit set to 53 which the max on the unit is 62 but I keep it on 53 because it doesn't distort my door speakers...I have my kicker bass knob that runs from the amp and adjust the bass output set on 2 for rock and metal...
Now when I listen to rap I put the bass knob to 10 and let it rattle but lately my amp will cut out off on really low bass hits.. like for ex the song Put On by Young Jeezy.. it drops out on the lowest hit and will try to come back on and cut out again until it gets to a higher bass sound then will play fine..I am still running a Stock alternator on my car which is a 105Amp alt... yes in the car my volts go all the way down to about 8 which Ive been running it like this for about a year now..
I know the Kicker ZX amps have 3 way protection on them which is thermal,voltage,and connection..
So,DO u think my alternator is just going bad from the insane amounts of power being withdrawn from it or do u think its something else like a ground or something internal in the amp itself...
It just now started doing this about 2weeks ago and I've had this setup for roughly a year maybe a little shorter now... But I also dont listen to rap on a daily basis..
