Keys

Holy crap!

I just went through the effort of trying to get a spare set of keys cut for my bike.
The Suzuki dealerships here do not cut keys for Suzukis. They will order a blank in, but you have to take it to a locksmith to have it cut. They'll cut Hondas, Yamahas, etc

The locksmiths WILL cut keys, even without the Suzuki blanks, BUT warn that should I ever lose the little black plastic tag that came with the bike, I'd be hard pressed to get new keys for the bike without replacing the ignition.

I think I'd find a better locksmith. I've never seen a locksmith have trouble making a set of keys to fit an ignition on a Suzuki, even without the tag or another set of keys to go by. The good locksmith I use at the school made me a set for a used Suzuki I bought that had no keys in about 5 minutes, and even the moron mobile locksmith who barely spoke English and obviously very new to locksmithing took only 30 minutes to make a set for my Intruder when I lost them at a bar at 2 AM.

i went in today to get another set of keys.. was told to go to a certain locksmith. Will have to do that next week cause I just didn't feel like it tonight. Nap took precedence

I was thinking about getting another nice Boulevard key cut until I saw how much they want for those blanks.... $35!!! That is crazy. I can live with the generic backup key.

There are locksmiths that carry motorcycle keys. The dealer sent me to one in Joplin (wasn't even a big place) and they cut me a new key for about $4.00. Even my local hardware store ordered some motorcycle keys after they couldn't help me.

I need help! My son is only 3 and found the motorcycle key and is nowhere to be found. I have a 2006 Boulevard C50T and need to know how to get keys made. I really dont feel like having a new ignition nor want to pay the price for one. I had a rebel that I was told to remove the ignition and take it to a locksmith and they could cut the keys. Does anyone know if I have to do that with the C50? Any ideas would be great.

stealership that sale was originally done MIGHT be able to help...but more likely you'll be looking at having a lock smith pull the cylinders and replace.
