I know this html tag has only been implemented browsers like Firefox, Netscape, Opera (specifically not Internet Explorer). I would like to know if this tag is considered "obsolete" simply because it is not part of the HTML standard or if another technology has superseded its use.
Would this tag offer a higher level of security even for SSL-secured websites (such as financial transaction websites) if this tag was properly supported by all browsers?
