That's a pretty big question, even if he was only in office for 2 1/2 years.
Why don't you start by looking at the Watergate crisis and Nixon's resignation. That's why Ford was President, after all. He certainly didn't expect to be, and he remains the only US President to ever serve without ever winning an election. He pardoned Nixon less than a month after office and many people considered that to be seriously "uncool".
The economy was bad, inflation was the highest it had been since the Civil War and the US was in recession. He tried to fight inflation while also trying to ease price controls on oil due to the resource shock in 1973 - so that was a bit confusing. Here's another confusing fact: he was pro-choice, but opposed Roe V. Wade. Very strange. He helped ease tensions with the USSR but raised them in East Timor after giving Indonesia a "green light" to invade after Portugal left. That was a bit of a bummer for the Timorese.
Not one of the best presidents, but you could do a lot worse...
