Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC Blech!)

I haven't had KFC for a good year, so I decided to give it a shot.
Today, Tuesdays, they have a 2 piece special (drumstick and thigh) on
for $2.50 including fries. So I ordered a special, and was very
disappointed. What I tasted was fat, chicken and salt. Lots and lots
of salt. What happen to all the herbs and spices?

KFC standards are no longer consistent in my estimation. Some places
are good but too many have so so food. A good franchise business
maintains standards and enforces them if it is to prosper.

I have faint memories of Kentucky Fried Chicken back in the late 50s and
early 60's when I thought that it tasted really good. By the 70s I
could not stomach the stuff.

This is correct. Back then, your daddy could pick up a bucket of KFC and
fixin's for not a lot of money and make out like a big hero to the wife
and kids. These days when I spend $35 or so at KFC for some weird pieces
of chicken, I feel like a big goofball.

My parents got it once in a while. Mainly when the neighbors came over and
dinner rolled around. There was one within walking distance. I would only
eat the mashed potatoes and the biscuits.

It's been that way for more than a year. Your taste buds finally

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

I remember when Col. Sanders had sold the company but was not dead yet
and was beside himself that standards had been allowed to slip so
much.

I remember Col. Sanders when it was a real restaurant, not a fast food
joint and you're right. It was very good fried chicken.
