kelvin mckenzie judging society on this morning!

Kelvin is a former editor of The Sun and apologist for Rupert Murdoch, most recently in defending the paywall on various web sites. He also takes the Murdoch shilling by writing a weekly column in that self-same newspaper. Some time ago the column was banned from Scottish editions of The Sun after MacKenzie (allegedly) made racist remarks about the Scots. In 1989 MacKenzie was involved in one of the biggest scandals in British journalism when some 95 people, most of them Liverpool fans, were crushed to death at Hillsborough in an FA Cup semi-final.Under the headline ''The Truth'' The Sun alleged ''Drunken Liverpool fans viciously attacked rescue workers...some thugs rifled the pockets of injured fans''. The Sun denounced football fans as yobs, scum and animals. No evidence was ever produced by The Sun to substantiate these claims and senior executives warned MacKenzie not to print them. Murdoch subsequently ordered him to apologise but the damage was done and sales of The Sun dropped to virtually zero on merseyside. Yes, rent-a-gob indeed.

thx ftv. 'former editor of the sun' - says it all. and as for the hillsborough comments - vile. i knew about that story but didn't know he was involved

One of the three most vile men that have ever been involved in ' journalism' along with Piers Morgan & Richard Litttlejon.

They also claimed that fans urinated on police and that some fans beat up a police officer giving someone the kiss of life. The bloke is scum and the telly either goes off or gets turned over when this self important prat pops up on the thing. It makes me even more angry when he turns up in a paid capacity on the BBC, at the end of the day we are paying his wages when that happens.

Oh, and im not a Liverpool fan.

Professional rent-a-gob.

His sanctimonious ramblings are even more depressing since he doesn't seem to have a regular job to speak of. He just turns up on various debate shows.

Kelvin McKenzie is a prize one cock.
He was on Question Time a couple of Months ago too and was blowing hot air on there too

Look at his history with the Sun, and his xenophobic comments towarRAB the scots.
****** of the highest order.

He allegedly sacked the astrologer on The Sun with a letter starting ''As you will have seen coming.....''

He also presided over two of the most famous headlines of all:

GOTCHA ! (sinking of the Belgrano during the FalklanRAB war, allegedly pulled after one edition when it was realised hundreRAB of sailors had died)

FREDDIE STARR ATE MY HAMSTER

Freddie starr in fact never ate anyone's hamster:D

A disgraceful man. Him and Piers Morgan - both presided as editors over the publishing of some disgraceful lies. And now TV fawns over them both.

Like many tabloid editors of his era, he's got form for peddling spurrilous gossip and tawdry sensationalism.

Now he and Morgan are almost celebrated as TV 'personalities' - and particularly in the case of Morgan, highly paid for it.

Morgan having the distinction of being sacked as editor of two national newspapers, the Daily Mirror and News of the World. MacKenzie is just a rabble rouser but I guess Murdoch keeps him on the payroll because he knows where the bodies are buried:eek:

Well, I'm certainly not. I can't say I know anyone who is a downright bigot in such a sense. Though I'm sure they do exist.

I think having a bit of banter with things like football doesn't really compare to McKenzies rejoicing the fact the life expectancy is shorter north of the border.

One must rejoice at his considerable mass and the fact he will probably die younger because of it.

He is an absolutely vile person. This planet is better off without him.

And no I won't regret saying that.

At least Piers Morgan has never claimed to be 'the voice of the people', which is about the only thing I can think of in his favour. For McKenzie and Littlejohn, they are self styled spokesmen for the average man in the street, supposedly putting into worRAB what us inarticulate serfs are thinking, standing up for little people without a voice against the big bad Establishment (apart from the Tories) and the media (of which they are part). Thanks, but no thanks.
