I just got back from the derm and he prescribed me Keflex - anyone tried this before?

I was prescribed Keflex for a UTI but I haven't been on it for acne. It kills bacteria so I am guessing it would be an effective cleanser.
If you are taking it in pill form, be aware that it kills good bacteria as well as bad. I got a very stubborn yeast infection while I was on it. Eat lots of yogurt and dairy with active cultures in them while you are on it.

Wow, no one has been prescribed this for acne? Please, anyone?
If so, did your acne get worse before getting better. I have taken this for 1 week now and my chin is broken out soooooo bad ( this is my problem area - chin and jawline, nowhere else). HELP!

My son's Derm. prescribed Keflex to be taken at the start of his accutane regimine. This is because when starting accutane, it can really break you out during the first few weeks. The Doctor found that Keflex really calms or eliminates this breakout. It eliminated it for my son. He had no breakout.

my doc gave me keflex then took me off it to give me doxicycline. it worked pretty good for awhile but i thin my body started to reject it so it didnt work any more.

Did any of you have an initial breakout? My jawline is out of control!!!!
Ive taken this for 2 weeks now. I am also taking Yasmin! I just want the derm to give me SPIRO, but he wouldnt. He wanted me to try this. He claimed that antibiotics tend to work better after you have been through accutane - which Ive done twice and still have acne.
Im debating going to another derm to see if I can get SPIRO. If spiro an antibiotic?
