I was told that the only fish possible to b in with gold fish where the sucker fish. The reason being is bcuz goldfish emit amonia which is poisonous to other fish, thus can kill them especially if u dont change the water often. the eel will most likely eat if not just bite and kill them. if u still wanna risk it then just make sure to add lots of stuff that would give hiding places for them big enough for them to hide but small enough to keep the eel out. In the real world thats how they live, they know when danger lurks and know when to hide. Make sure to also buy the chlorine elimintator if ur gonna b using tap water for if u dont then that will kill ur fish in about eh...a minute or 2 and it will b a painful death for them :(

Enjoy the rest of ur nite :)

Goldfish cannot be kept with other fish because they are extremely messy and can kill other fish. The eel and the loach should do fine together though.

But if you are planning to keep these two fish for a long time you will have to move them to a bigger tank because these fish grow much bigger then a twenty can handle on its own.

hey there, i just got 2 gold fish and have a 20 gallon aquarium for them. a family friend (who breeds and keeps freshwater fish) gave me a red-tailed botia loach and a small eel. i was wondering if these fish would get along, since ive read that both eels and loach can be aggressive. I worry for my goldfish, one is very small - barely 2inches.

you can keep goldfish with other fish and get ammonia clear to help with the ammonia down so the other fish don't die. also change out the filter when you do a water change.

Goldfish are best kept with other goldfish only. A twenty gallon tank is too small for two goldfish as it is- two commons need 75, and two fancy goldfish need at least 30.

If you want to keep both coldwater and tropical fish, then you need two separate set ups.
