I have a 98 model and I need to know what kind of oil to put int it and where exactly to check the oil level. Also how do you do the oil in the rear?

Check the manual if you don't have the original try the Kawasaki web page you should be able to download the manual online and that should tell you. Good luck!!

Hold the bike upright (as if you were sitting on it) when draining & checking fluid levels.

Go to - your bike - Crankcase
Remove drain bolt (underneath the engine # 92066B) and drain the oil.
Re-install the drain bolt with a new sealing washer if necessary.
Remove the spin-on oil filter - Location is rear of engine, right side, near the bottom # 32033.
Clean and dry the crankcase before installing the oil filter.
Dip your finger in fresh oil and wet the o-ring of the new filter.
Install the new filter hand tight (very snug).

Go to - Engine cover
Remove fill cap (right "side" of engine # 16115)
Fill with quality, brand name, 10W-40, motor oil until the oil covers 1/2 - 3/4 of the oil level window (Go to - Crankcase, right "side" of engine, near the bottom, # 52005) - remember, bike upright.
Install the fill cap, start and run the engine for a few minutes - to allow the oil to circulate throughout the engine and fill the oil filter.
Stop the engine and let it sit for a few minutes - to allow the oil to settle to the bottom of the crankcase.
Re-check the oil level - add or drain oil if necessary.

Go to - Drive shaft
Remove drain bolt # 130 and drain the final drive.
Install the drain bolt.
Remove the fill cap # 16115
Add 80w90 Hypoid Gear Oil until the level is even with the bottom of the fill hole.

Check for leaks, re-cycle the oil and ride!
