Hi! We just bought a new Kawasaki prairie 350, The place we bought it from said that after so may hours we had to bring it back for a first service. My dad decided to do it himself, but i was wondering if they did anything special at the first service that he didn't know about? Thanks so much!!

The sevice is in your oweners manual. The bigest question is did your dad void the warrentee by doing it himself? I would call the dealer you bought it from and ask whats up. Good luck.

no,nothing special about the service,BUT,as its a new bike they should be checking for stuff working loose!...but he will need the service history book stamped, much better in the long run.

At most dealers your first service should be free. But if your going to do it yourself, here is what they will do. They will change the oil and filter, change the spark plug, check the valve clearances, check the suspension for leaks or loose parts, and lastly clean the air filter. You should be able to find the valve clearances in the service manual or possibly somewhere on the machine( I believe Kawasaki puts a sticker on the airbox lid.) If your father doesn't know how to check valve clearances or read a feeler gauge, I would suggest you take it to a dealer. Good Luck and safe riding.

P.S.: Always wear a helmet.
