I am planning on buying a motorcycle for this summer to ride. I just got my license and I hear everyone saying that a 250 is the way to go. Although, I have only got about 2 hours riding time maximum. I was wondering in your opinion would be a good starter bike. I was thinking about getting a 2008 250r ninja but I dont want to drop a nice looking bike in my first couple of weeks.
What wouold you suggest?
An older but still nice bike? I am clueless.
I was thinking about getting a pretty nice starter bike riding it for about four weeks to two months nd get used to a bike. Then sell the old one and buy a new hot ride. Keep in mind though I don't want to fast of a motorcycle I want a smooth ride at first then in a year or so try out the ZX6R or ZX10R. Also my parents think I need to get used to a bike before dropping or crashing that nice of one.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Okay I just want to get across that this is going to be my very first bike. I have never really been on one before (over 10 mph). Another question I was wondering is would my friends 250 yamaha help me on gettin shifting down? its a dirt bike so i dont kno if sportbikes are a whole lot different.
Thanks for the feedback I am now leaning on the side of getting like a 1500 dollar 250 and getting used to the whole bike atmosphere andd then if i do drop it who cares. At least i am getting better and wont be so pissed off as if i dropped a 3500 brand neww bike.
Thanks for the help i like the response that says no matter how good you will most likely drop your bike at least once. HAHA
Yeah i just did some research and peple say you always drop your first bike its almost a given. I was wondering what kind of damage really happens whe you "drop" your bike? is it drastic or just very minor like scraped paint?
How long would/should you be on a start bike for ? 6 months? A year?
