Kawasaki Ninja 250R for a first time rider?

Whats everyones input on the 2008 250R? Pretty sweet lookin and it would be suitable for a new rider??? The newer ones dont look so shincy. Once again I would be buying this as a first time rider. Being a shorter girl (5'5") im wondering if its a practical first time buy??
