ok so i got a full lisence but for two years i can only ride 33bhp i was thinking of saving up for this bike do you think its worth the money £3,500? plus whats it bad and good points is the accelerion any good ? is it faster then the aprilia Rs 125 wolud it be ok to ride it at 90mhp for a long time or wolud it blow up?

I put 10k miles on a ninja 250.... heres what I learned

-It will do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, this may seem fast to you, but compared to other bikes, this bike is laughed at for speed, and accelleration.
-It maxes out at about 110mph
-I frequently rode the bike to and from atlantic city which was 150miles roudn trip form where I live on a major highway, and never had any problems. But yes, it does turn at 8.5k rpms at 80mph as I recall.
-it consistantly got me no less than 50mpg even during hard city driving.
-It is a bit annoying to ride it longer than 1 hour, especially on the highway as there is no functioning windsheild.
-The centerstand makes it easy to change the oil, and lube the chain, i think they did away with the centerstand on the new ones im not sure though.
-Between what i bought it for and what i sold it for, it cost me 1300 dollars to put 10k miles on it, they are easy to resell and are always in demand.

Now i have an FJR1300, I like it a lot better

it just wouldn't be very fast. it an go to 90 but it would take a while to get there. its a good small bike overall. it shouldn't blow up unless something else is wrong with it!

i don't know a whole lot about the aprilia. but i know that ALL ninjas deserve at least a test drive. you should go find a dealer and test drive it, find out all the facts and all that jazz. I have ridden a ninja before and it is like nothing else i have ever ridden

I owned a Ninja 250R - then a 500 - then a big Ninja. Here are the good and the bad points. The good - very easy to ride, great gas mileage, looks great, reliable, will outrun most cars. The bad - very light, wind and trucks will blow you around, you really have to rev it to go fast, it will tire you out on long rides. The guy that said they are slow is wrong. They run low 14 second quarter mile stock and 0-60 is 5.75 seconds! That's pretty damn fast, sure the big bikes will beat you but you can run off from most cars. Top speed is supposed to be about 100mph, I think I remember having mine to 110 a couple of times. It cruised at 70-80 pretty good, it really is reving it pretty hard to cruise above that. Mine was stock except for Cobra pipes. I do remember getting stuck in a huge storm about 100 miles from home one time. The wind blew me all over the place. I've ridden a big Harley in a storm and it was rock solid. On the 250R the gusts would move me 3 or 4 feet across the lane, pretty scary. Anyway, they are great sporty bikes and excellent for short rides. Hope that helps, Dean
