I've done my research on both the 250 and the 650 for 2012. Judging by the specs 650 is a much better bike due to the brighter lights (LED) for driving and being noticed at night. It also has many key features that I like including all of its new computer enhanced "gadgets." The thing is that money is an issue and the 250 is perfect for my price range. I am going to be making 1 hour commutes to work on a two lane highway. My question about the 250 is am i going to be able to easily kick it up a notch and pass someone in a very short period of time when they are doing 65? There is also a bunch of huge hills and plenty of ups and downs on the road back and forth, i don't enjoy riding a bike that i have to "red line" to keep it going 70-75 on uphill drags. So i guess what im getting down to is if the 250 has what i need/want for my commute or do i need to take a step up to the 650 to make it a more appealing ride on the crazy texas roads i drive? Please don't respond to this post unless you own a 250 and have experienced it on more than just flat city streets. I'm trying to get the riders point of view and not just someone who is opinionated about everything.
