Kawasaki kxf 250 clutch problems, what should I do/replace?

I recently bought a used 2007 kawasaki kxf250. When the bike is idling in neutral and you shift into first with the clutch depressed, the bike stalls. you have to twist the throttle as if you were starting to move in order to stop the bike from stalling. also, while riding with the clutch depressed, if you twist the throttle there is still a slight pull to the bike.. what is wrong and what can I do about it? Can I fix this without purchasing new parts? Because I already had to put nearly $1000 into the bike,
