kawasaki kx100: it?

i have 1996 kx 100 that i purchased for my son (12yrs) it started fine, (1st or 2nd kick) then after a week of riding, we where out riding and the bike seemed to run out of gas,but i know its full, i checked for spark and there is, also pulled gas line off carb, gas is flowing to carb. not sure what to try next, any ideas?
 
the gas cap should be vented, loosen the cap and see if it runs..

easy fix if this works
