kawasaki 19.2 cordless drill?

Hello i have a slightly used drill 19.2 that hasnt been used in a year that when i go to use it i smell a slight burnt smell it works fine other then the smell its been kept in a case hasnt gotten wet or anything else.would taken it apart blowing it out with compressed air help thx mike
