Katara and Bloodbending........

I just have a few thoughts...we all know that Katara learned Bloodbending, and she can only do it at full moon. However, did Katara also get the ability to revive the moon when she learned this new skill? I mean, surely we will see her do her bloodbending again, and I would just bet a million dollars that she will use it on Zuko..(or at least threaten him with it....)

Revive the moon? Not sure I understand the question.

I'm sure we'll see the blood-bending thing again. I'm almost sure the shows writers didn't stick that into the story for nothing.:anime:

Yes, I am pretty sure we will see Katara Bloodbend again...maybe on Zuko, maybe not, but I think we'll definitely see her do it again. I was just curious if since she learned Bloodbending, she now has the ability to revive the moon.. I dunno, but it seems to me that Katara should be able to revive the moon so that she could bloodbend when it is absolutely necessary, not just when there is a full moon, Yeesh, I hope that made sense!

I'm sorry, but what you're saying still doesn't make sense.

When you say "revive the moon", do you mean like summon it? What exactly do you mean by that?

Well, I guess I mean, make it full so that she could do her bloodbending...Gosh, I don't know what I am talking about anymore..I'm sorry! :o

It wouldn't be believable if she got some extra ability to call down the moon to use blood bending whenever she wants. I believe that Blood Bending was one of those one time episodes that won't be addressed again. They have yet to actually have a ability for Airbenders to begin with and I'm sure that would be addressed rather than having the next ten episodes involving Katara improve this ability and use it to some effect... Most think that the Airbender sub ability might be the ability suck out the air within their opponent and kill them.

**SIGH** Well... there WAS a whole episode dedicated to Katara learning Bloodbending..I think she WOULD use it again, otherwise the Puppermaster was just a waste of the writers' time and effort, in my opinion..what I am trying to figure out is, since her bloodbending only works during a full moon, could she still have an ability to use it even if the moon WASN'T full? like, causing the moon to be full when it wasn't or something? Ah, I'm just thinking too much...but ANYTHING can happen in a cartoon, I guess, even if it ISN'T bevlievable...and **IF**, and I say, **IF** she DOES use it again, (which would seem silly to me if she didn'tsince there was a whole episode dedicated to that..).I'm willing to bet she would use it on Zuko.

I'm sure that we will see Katara using blood bending again. It obviously is a dangerous, yet interesting and useful, move she can use in the face of battle. However, I can't really see her using it on Zuko. Katara is a morally driven kind of person and I don't think that she would use her blood bending skills unless it was her utmost last choice. That's why she used it in the first place: to stop the puppetmaster from killing Sokka and Aang. I don't think that she would use it against someone like that. She knows that she has the power to control a person's body and potentially kill them. I just can't see her doing that to Zuko, let alone anyone, with other battle choices in front of her. Besides that, Zuko wants to help Aang defeat the Fire Lord so it isn't like he's still their enemy. Sure, their first meeting will be interesting, to say the least, but I can't see Katara using her blood bending skills on Zuko when he finds them. She'll most likely use a lot of water bending skills on Zuko since she and everyone else won't believe him at first, but that's about it.

As for the role blood bending will take in the future, who knows. The writers have been known to give excellent plot twists during the course of each seasons so I would imagine that blood bending would be helpful in adding to the plot or future developing Katara's character by placing her in a position where she has to decide to use blood bending. That would be interesting to see.

Oh no, no, I did not mean that Katara would/should use her bloodbending abillity on Zuko when he catches up with them, but I mean, *IF* Zuko betrays them again.(and we know that his sister is looking for him, and Mai probably will too when she reads that letter Zuko left for her....) ..and who's to say he really WON'T betray them again, unless you work for the creators, that is.......and by the way, someone who was at the annual Comic Con a few months ago informed me that the creators said that after what Zuko did in Crossroads of Destiny, after Zuko blew Katara's sympathy and compassion in her face, but he ALMOST killed Aang...the creators said that this experience had a major impact on Katara's personality, and that she would be NOT BE TRUSTING.........

Well, who knows if Katara will use her bloodbending on Zuko..it's a possibility, as anything else. I'm really sorry, but I just don't like Zuko, and I think he might end up with Mai soon....just my opinion...but that's possible too. When Zuko finally DOES catch up with Aang and friends, I just will not trust Zuko any more than Katara might.

Okay, I understand what you're saying now. If Zuko does betray Aang and his friends again, then I could definately see Katara being really upset about it. Based on her personality and the dangerous power she has as a blood bender, I still think that she wouldn't use blood bending on Zuko unless her friends and/or innocent people were in danger and she had no other choice. After the Puppetmaster episode, Katara realizes that she has this incredible power that allows her to become so powerful that she can practically kill people without even touching them. Like I said before, from what I've seen, Katara is a morally-driven kind of person and after seeing what happened to the old woman, I'm sorry that I can't remember her name at the moment, after she developed blood bending, I doubt she would want to risk ending up being like her. While she does function with a good sense of morals, power can change and corrupt even the kind hearted people.

You do bring up a good point about when Zuko didn't take Katara's sympathy and compassion. I honestly think that the tempatation of getting what he's always wanted back, his honor and respect from his father, was just too much for him to refuse. Even if it did mean losing ties with his uncle, for awhile anyway, and the chance to finally heal his scar. I didn't really think that he almost killed Aang in the Crossroads of Destiny. I know that they fought, obviously, but Azula was the only one to really come close to killing Aang during that event. Still, I understand that Katara will not be as trusting as she was to him during that episode. I just can't see her using blood bending on Zuko, let alone anyone really, unless she has no other choice to make.

While I have no connection to the writers or the creators of the show, obviously again, I also can't see Zuko betraying Aang and his friends. Sure, they won't accept him right away, but I'm sure that he will help them out. After all, he did tell his father off during the Day of the Black Sun, told him about how he felt, said that he was going to help the Avatar to take him down and that defeating him was not his destiny, but the Avatar's destiny. Most of the first half of book three also dealt with how Zuko felt after getting what he always wanted. He realized that it wasn't what he wanted anymore since he didn't feel like himself. As for Azula, I can see her trying to toy with him and make him come back, if it works out in her favor, but I doubt that he would really fall for it. Mai will most likely prove to be an interesting factor, though. I actually hope that the both of them get together too since I felt that their relationship was true and that they had honest feellings for each other. Based on how her feelings and how she doesn't seem to care much for being in a in-charge kind of position, I can see her choosing Zuko over the Fire Nation. That or she will just wait for him to come or something like that.

Of course, the writers could throw something completely different and surprise everyone out of their minds. They've been known to do that and it will be wonderful to see how the rest of book three turns out.

I doubt that Katara will use blood bending again. They way the woman who used it in that episode used it for vengence and got Katara angry with vengence to use it. Katara herself said she wouldn't want to use it. I think you have to be seriously furious to use blood bending and I don't see the show going dark like that again.

Plus what are the chances that she'd be pissed off and it's a full moon at the same time?:p
