Karl Rove

Im curious to see how many people know what the Karl Rove contreversy is realy about. The problems are that the news MEDIA is biased and not telling the whole truth about what this is all about. Im curious as to know how many people are even aware about the rest of the story since the bUSH news organizations fail to publish it.

The real story is that an Ambasadors wife was an operative sent by someone to africa to go on the wild uranium goose chase and after realizing it was compltely fabricated her and her husband said so publicaly and that the inteligence was being built for the war and not vice versa. This really ****** off the gestapo who in turn outed his wife. Now her career as an operative is over and she is doomed to paperwork at langley.

The problems with that is that rove has a National Security Clearance and has been shown that he likes to put our spys lives at risk for partisant gain and that it is truly an abominable act.

Bush has made probobaly 20 promises to fire / prosecute anyone in the administration who was responsible or played a part in this. It was SOLELY ROVE who had any part or is even in question (that is not accounting bUSH or any of his other buddies who thought it would be mean and FUNNY to do so).

You mean that an Ambasador was sent by his wife to Africa to investigate the validity of a uranium story. After failing to do any comprehensive research, he concocted a story and tried to sell it to the administration.

When the intelligence community decided there was no validity to the report, they didn't even forward it on to the White House. Wilson then went to the media, and an individual asked Rove if the White House knew about the report. Rove responded that the story wasn't true; that the White House didn't send Wilson to Africa.

Wilson's wife had been working in the United States for the past 6 years, not as a covert operative, but openly at the CIA. As mentioned previously: she was the one who got Wilson his trip to Africa.

This information was all confirmed by a unanimous bipartisan Senate investigation.

Once information about Wilson's wife got out, the NY Times (and a few other publications) went crazy with the story and demanded an investigation. This led to an interesting battle where the media was forced to fight a bloody civil war: those interested in pursuing the War on Bush vs. reporters interested in maintaining the integrity of confidential sources.

The latter insisted that the prosecution was frivilous, insisting that there was no underlying crime (the statute defining a covert operative required that the operative be stationed outside the US in the past 5 years on more than a temporary work assignment). Unable to stop the judicial machine, the reporters who wanted to keep their sources confidential (unintended consequence?) lost the battle - leaving one reporter in jail (despite, apparantly, her source's willingness to have his/her name revealed).

With the battle won against the internal threat, the news media turned their attention once again to the bigger prize: the Bush Administration. Not letting anything so pointless as the facts get in their way, and ignoring their prior insistence that there was no crime committed they began a campaign to drop Rove; if he didn't commit a crime, then he lied to the President. And if that doesn't work, "it's not the nature of the evidence but the seriousness of the charge"

And thus we find ourselves today. The Media staunchly on both sides of the issue, Democrats calling for Rove's head, Republicans questioning what the heck the problem is, and the public confused as to what's really going on.

Umm, NO

The wife was sent undercover and found the URANIUM STORY TO BE FULL OF MANEUER. And accused the White House of (seconded buy blairs own parliament) using the war to CREATE the inteligence and not the inteligence to create the war. If you think this was a legit war your out of your head or blind. They then outed her for not playing along.

I didn't vote because you can't vote twice.
Both answers are true.

Rove did something wrong, but not illegal.
The Dems will try very very very hard to make it look illegal.

The deal is Rove did leak something.
Whether what he leaked or how he leaked it was illegal or not is the big question.

Another deal is Bush promised to fire anyone who leaked.
Rove leaked.

biccat said it for me already.
However, I do not believe the public is confused. I don't think the public as a whole care, realizing this is just inside the beltway politics.

HUMMMMM

Clinton guilty of pergery, a mistermenor, Impeached and burned at the stake by republicans

Rove aparently guilty of outing an undercover cia agent, a felony, and democrats are just picking on poor karl rove.

HUMMMMM I guess if you look at it from a republican prespective I guess the democrats are just have a bad case of sour grapes. How dare the democrats want to enforce the law.

I was listening to Charlie Rose last night. Niger thought that Iraq wanted to buy uranium and warned the group meeting with Iraq. However, it never came up in the meeting, so no agreement was ever made.

The documents people keep coming up with are all fake.
