Karl Pilkington-An Idiot Abroad Sky1HD 9pm

Yup a fortune (think he received most the proceedings for the last few podcast series, which considering the most popular in the world at the time would have been a fair old bit) and on the whole thought process thing, your right. Many a times he said something on the podcast, was told it's bollocks by Ricky and Steve and that he was making it up, only for it to be true but he was explaining it wrong and there were many times they wound up agreeing with some of his stranger opinions (that they initially laughed at) when he explained them properly.

But yeah, as I was saying, as much as they mock him, they're good mates of his and are really rather fond of him really (He made a cameo appearance in Extras).

Loved the Karl quote last week when watching the woman eating Scorpions, and I am slightly paraphrasing here "What would she do if she found a Spider in the bath, "I'll pass on the Croissant"".

KArl is a legend.

I'm really enjoying this programme - Karl has got spot on timing , when he was being hassled by all the food and drink shop owners and he was on about shortcuts and a very old woman was trying to get past, and he said something like "she was ten when she started off through there" just made me roar with laughter.

Then you would be wrong.

This is not some genius level comedy that is a multi layered treat. It is an idiot being an idiot. If you find that funny, great, but lets not pretend its anything else.

I got around to watching this yesterday, after not being sure what to expect and I bloomin' well loved it. OK I do like Gervais & Merchant and will agree that Ricky Gervais has the worst laugh in TV. Karl's original reason for not wanting to go - I might try some toad, find I like it & then I can't get any when I come home. :D
