K....question about different phone data plans?

First off haven't had a new phone in 3 years and i'm a little late to the game.

I am wanting to get a phone with unlimited internet. I noticed that some phones still have the unlimited internet/texting for 30 bucks and some have the 2gb limit which doesn't include texting that i know of for 25. I want to get a Samsung Impression (is that a good phone?). it still has the unlimited data and testing for 30 bucks. Does this include uploading pictures to facebook and what not? Does At&T plan on ending this option very soon with all phones or only certain ones?

If anyone has any recommendations on a phone I can get with the 30dollar unlimited texting and data plan it would be greatly appreciated.

Also can you go to any website on these phones?

Whats the difference between a "smartphone" and a phone like the one i listed above?

Thanks.

There are no more $30.00 unlimited data plans for new subscribers. These plans were for smartphones. They now have limited data plans for smartphones placed into service after June 7, 2010. You can keep the unlimited smartphone plans only if you had it before the transition date. The Samsung Impression (SGH-A877) is a Quick Messaging Device (QMD). Such phones require you to have a messaging feature costing at least $20.00 or a combination of messaging and data costing at least that. If you have a FamilyTalk plan with unlimited messaging for families ($30.00), you meet the qualifications for all lines with QMDs.

Unlimited data is offered on all phones except smartphones.

Thank you for the response.

Another question for anyone. I believe I am going to get a Pantech Pursuit. I have one question with the unlimited data plan. I noticed in a review from PCMag that said "AT&T Mobile E-mail offers plenty of Web and ISP account connectivity, but it costs $5 per month (with a 30-day free trial) on top of your $20 data plan." What if on the html web browser of the phone u just go to yahoo.com or aol.com and send my email that way if it was still has an addition 5 bucks a month instead of using there mobile email service? I am very new to this internet on the phone stuff.

Also is there any additional charges for uploading photo's to facebook from the phone? I have read different things. Does it depend on the phone?

Also, to anyone, what is the streaming video quality like on a Pantech Pursuit? I read that it isn't so good on the ease and the impact and but couldn't really find anything about the Pursuit.

Thanks.
