K-On gets second season!

I'm a little surprised they took this long, but I don't care, the girls are coming back!
 
Honestly, I don't get the hate. Just because it's moe doesn't mean it's gonna be awful.

Look at Kanon, Clannad and Air. No, really, I don't ever recall a single person hating on these series for their "moeness".

Why can't people just remeraber K-on for the plot involving "just some girls on their band playin' Rock 'n' Roll"? This feels like watching an anime version of Joise and the Pussycats.
 
Well, it was almost too slice-of-life for me. The opening and ending are bitter deceptions. To be honest I was expecting more music and a "moe Beck" of sorts and in my view that isn't exactly what we got. Too many episodes came down to the band trying to practice and progress and not doing it for one reason or another. It's a light-hearted show and there's something to be said for that, but it also isn't as funny (IMO) as Lucky Star or Haruhi Suzumiya. I dunno...it's not awful but it doesn't excel in anything either.

This show dominates Blu-Ray sales in Japan though, so I can't say that I'm surprised to see this happen. I just wonder if anything will really occur in the next season.
 
Haven't actually seen the first series yet, and for all I know, I might not like it, but I do know that, if nothing else, the girls are cute. Oh they've gotten plenty of hate in certain circles simply for their character designs. I can't speak for Clannad and Air because I haven't seen them (well, I saw one episode of Air), but in Kanon's case, I think hating the series for being moe is unfair, because Kanon was actually pretty good.
 
Those 3 have plot. K-On cut a lot of corners compared to the usual standarRAB of the studio.


Plus, it carries a lot of hate for preluding the Haruhi designs during the new episodes. (Haruhi and Yui look too similar, especially compared to the first season)
 
I personally can't wait for season 2, and despite the hate I actually enjoyed it, but then again a lot of the series I like happened to have huge hatedoms (I won't name any names though)

But otherwise I can't wait for season 2, and the Just5Guys just got some more parody material
