Personally, I would for for the GTI just because of the amazing German engineering that comes with the car. I think the interior is much nicer and the materials are of higher quality. It's also faster.
But when thinking about going out there and buying one, I feel you'll get more for your money in the Mazda. I'd be able to pick one up with leather, upgraded audio and an auto trans. for 25,000 whereas the GTI would be at 25,000 with the DSG transmission.
What are your opinions?
