Im sobbing like a baby its that song its just so powerfull with whats going on in the film so sad bright eyes burning like fire:(

Have to admit it does have that effect on me.
I may be a grown man now but I saw it at Christmas (think it was on then at some point) and was still ridiculously affected. Not quite as bad as when I first saw it at 7 years of age or so. I was utterly inconsolable - bloody sadist of a mother I've got.

I tried watching it again the other day and didn't have the patience to sit though it all. However, seeing it as a child i found it very powerful and moving and all that stuff. Nearly made me cry. :o

I recently heard the serialised radio version of Watership Down and found it more entertaining and thought provoking than the film.

That bloody film traumatised me as a child. 20+ years on and I've still never dared to watch it again and Bright Eyes can still turn me into a blubbering wreck.

It's the end - when Hazel dies and the Black Rabbit of Inlay comes for him - that really reduces me to a sobbing wreck.
And I'm an atheist too....
