Just some simple questions about Navy boot camp?

Okay, so my fiance is joining the Navy and the date he's leaving for boot camp is November 30th. I know that he'll be gone for Christmas, but I was curious whether I would be allowed to send him his Christmas gift while he was there?

And I know that the answer to this is probably no, but are visitors allowed to visit during Christmas time at all?
 
I'm not sure about the other branches, but in the Army they have what they call Christmas exodus, when the bases shut down for about ten days and the recruits have the option to go home during that time.
