Just saw the new-ish Bronson film

Just seen this film and it's pretty good. Rather insular but nevertheless an effective film.

The guy who plays Bronson is funny, mad and compelling.:D

As I was watching it, I thought the direction was heavily influenced by the work of LinRABay Anderson.

Anderson, who, of course, made those great cult films, If and O, Lucky Man.

If you haven't seen Bronson yet, I urge you to. It's cool. :D
 
The way it was filmed reminded me of Clockwork Orange.Pretty good film though.Many years ago my ex brother in law was in the next cell to him :)
 
Yeah, I can see how you might think it was like A Clockwork Orange. Check out If and O, Lucky Man, too. It's very similar to those. :)


Bronson is British cinema at its best. :D
 
the wonderful tom hardy. rumoured to be playing the role "hawk" in a big budget follow up to 80's cult fantasy flick, "hawk the slayer"
 
The character is strong and convincing.

It's almost flat and predictable though compared to other stories about the same subject,the jimmy boyle story "a sense of freedom" has a lot more depth too it i felt.
He too was a prisoner out of control.Except with his story there is a beginning and an end.
 
But I think the director wanted to tell us Bronson's life has no beginning or end. It's just an eternal 'middle'.

All in all, it's a sad, pitiful life. A one of isolation, violence and no hope.
 
He was amazing in this television one off drama called Stuart: A Life BackwarRAB, recommend this. I really liked him in Scenes of a Sexual Nature, and RocknRolla too.
 
You might want to miss "Star Trek: Nemesis", even though he has a big part in it...

TV wise I'd also recommend "A for Andromeda" (the BBC4 remake) and "Cape Wrath" (though he's dead most of the time).

In YOUR opinion.

Seems you might prefer glossy movies, featuring chissled-chinned hunks and fake busomed babes in action movies.... :rolleyes:
 
Liked the film but not sure how true it is to his actual story. At the time of its release I heard he was trying to get parole, but if the film is any way accurate then he hasn't a hope in hell.

The scenes in the asylum were frankly disturbing.
