Just replaced my iPod touch 4g screen, it updated/restored on itunes apparently but the screen is still black?

So I replaced my cracked iPod touch 4g screen and digitizer, and I plugged it into the computer and I tried turning it on, screen stayed black but it updated and restored on itunes? How do I turn my iPod screen on?
