What was wrong with the pearl? Curious because I considered it before going for the E50.

While the Pearl is a leap ahead in the blackberry user friendliness with the trackball, its a crappy phone. The sound quality is horrible as theres an echo in every conversation. Reception is a bar less than most other phones no matter where you are. Bluetooth connectivity is marginal and you need to jump through a set of hoops to send things to another person. Blackberry help is constantly telling customers to reinstall the current firmware if they are having any issues. Mine has been showing a constant error code lately when trying to read texts or emails prompting me to do a battery pull reset everytime. Oh and every now and then it will lose reception completely, say its searching for network, then about a minute later find full strength again.
Id like to see what the new 8800 is like but I dont really need a phone that thinks its better than a Nokia when I can just get a Nokia.
