I could really use some advice on what to expect from suboxone. The dr. sent me home with a prescription for 50 tablets that are .5 mg and told me to take one or two every so often but not more than 12 a day and then come back in 4 days for a new prescription. The first day I just took them every few hours regardless of how I felt and took the whole 12. The next day I thought I'd just take some when I started feeling bad and I've only taken three of them all day. I assume the goal is to take as little of the sub as possible to get you by without feeling the withdrawals. I want to minimize how addicted I become to the sub so I can get off of all this stuff for good. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to successfully get my body off of the oxycontin and past the withdrawal stage without becoming addicted to the sub. I wasn't on the oxy for very long; just 6 months and I was only taking 100 mg a day of the oxy maximum for about two months. Any advice on how to make my sub process as quick as possible would be helpful. The sub is amazing though, I'm on day two and no w/d as long as I keep taking a little sub. The sub cost me $48 for 50 pills that are .5 mg so it's not that bad expensive. I was spending at least $100 a day for oxy. I've heard of some people taking sub for just a few days to get past the w/d and then they're fine, then others who have taken it for years and say it's hard to get off. Anyway, God bless and thanks in advance =)
