Hey guys I just bought yesterday a N93....This is my first Nokia phone in like 10 years lol...and this is also my first S60 phone as well...I come from using all the P series from Sony Ericsson but was really dissapointed with the P990i so I decided to go for a change...So I am rookie with this phone now..So what do you guys recommend me to get....Like what kind of programs and stuff are useful?...How do I check what kind of firmware do I have as well?...So far I like it alot..even though I missed the touchscreen a little bit but not that much...I think I'll get used to it

First thing I would so it to download Nokia's Phone Software Update utility and check to see if there is a newer firmware available...if so, update it.

Congratz2!

First of all,
N93 is even EASIER to operate than P990i
Why??? Coz it's Nokia! (connecting people! )
Don't get me wrong, it has LOTs of features! Even after 3.5 months use, i still have somethings i haven't explored yet.

About 3rd app programs...
I don't know what you want but i have TONs of games installed in my N93.
I also have opera mini, google map, thesaurus, dictionarieS, and NIV-KJV Bible!

Use nokia software updater (included in DVD or PC suite).
Or if you can't find it, go to nokia.uk and get it from there.
That's first thing first when you get it.

Welcome!

I would recommend you search the forum here (it might even be a sticky) for the thread with all the freeware apps floating around. Some freeware apps I would highly recommend are:

-The gmail application. Just go to gmail.com on your phone browser
-Opera Mini. Way better than Nokia's browser if u ask me.
-Google Maps
-My Weather
-High Roller Casino
-and of course the ever classic Snake!

Enjoy your new phone!

Congrats..

I got mine about a month ago and couldnt be more satisfied. I took it to Disneyland for New Years Eve and it outlasted our digital camera and videos came out really clear. It also got a few stares and points (which is always welcome).

Like others have mentioned, just check out a few of the sticky threads. It'll help you a lot..

Enjoy!

Congratulations! GREAT PHONE indeed!

So except for the problem with the signal in US(if youre even from there that is), it does well.

It helped me(esp. for what it is aside from a cellphone - a video recorder) on memorable day to day experiences, like for example just this past Holiday Season, on a family reunion. I mean its a hassle to bring my camcorder everywhere we go. Its great esp. on daytime.

Only problem I got is I get emotional looking at the videos with family and events... nostalgia and whatnot in such a small, every day device. Sigh.

nokia needs to make an n93i/n94/n93.5 with quadband support! i want this phone but i'm not gonna plunk down the $700 if i can't get signal anywhere.

Get a 1gb miniSD for videos and such.

Well I am using my phone in NYC with Tmobile and the signal is not that bad...yeah I might get 2 signal less but it is still usable and the phone call quality is good...I am actually loving this phone alot...I find new stuff every day about it ...I still need to buy a 2gb miniSD...I still wish it had a keyboard so when i am using it in landscape mode but I think I am asking for too much haha...Thanks for the help guys...keep them coming

hiya fellas,

Just wondering....

what is the largest size mini sd card can the N93 take?

is 2GB the size limit? or will it take larger capacity mini sd's?

how about a 4GB? or even an 8GB someday???

congrats on your newfound love, she's a sexy beast!!!

Every Finnish made Nokia I've owned has had superior build quality. My old E61 was made in Finland and was solid as a rock as is my current Finnish made E50. My old N73 was "made by martians" was creaky and crunchy. N80ie I owned was an asian model but had a solid build to it however. One things for sure, Finland made doesnt do a damn thing for FW issues. My E50 is buggy as hell and in desperate need of a FW update (RM-171 non camera not available yet)
