Just got back from Transformers...

The whole movie is out of context. You don't take a story and change it around because you feel like it, you stick to the main idea and KEEP THE CHARACTERS AS THEY ARE. Battlestar Galactica has some of the same things but the characters are all changed around. STICK TO THE ORIGINAL IDEA. Hollywood fucks things up these days and people go see it anyway. Hollywood keeps changing shit and making more bullshit based on original stories from the past (because they are lazy, unoriginal fucks who just want a fast buck) and again the PEOPLE keep supporting it.

transformers delivered exactly what I expected. It wasn't a "good" movie, but nobody who paid for a ticket could complain about not getting their money's worth of what they paid to see.

godzilla was fucking garbage, and the biggest modern cinematic travesty I can recall

it's entertaining for sure.

I LOVED the cartoons. But I also recognize that a lot of them were pretty awful. The characters are all you can really take away from them. The stories were picard.jpg and the animation was beyond primative.

Unfortunately, the only character who really got translated to the new movie was Prime.

The main failing of the movie was to not get starscream and megatron enough screen time. They were the best characters from the cartoon, and the dynamic between them was amazing. There was only one moment of that in the entire movie.

I think michael bay is a fuckstick, but this movie was not a failure. There were enough cheap laughs by the human characters to keep the first half of the movie rolling, and enough robot action to hold up the second half.
