Just feeling an 8 year old swollen, hard lymph node, felt it deflate... FREAKJOB!

Hi everyone. First let me say I really appreciate people out there who take the time to help random strangers with their issues. So thank you for any replies you may dole out here.

Ok, so I was just feeling this fairly firm, centimeterish in diameter lymph node I've had for at least the last 7 years and it popped under my fingers! It was just above the left side of my Adams apple.

I am afraid that that node was filled with cancer and is now spreading around my body like a wildfire. I am also afraid that it was filled with some other infectious gunk that my body sealed away a long time ago for a reason.

I can still tell it is there, but it seems to be a soft shell of its former self.

I am a 27 year old male with no health problems, and no family history of lymphoma.

Really freaking out here, what do I do?

If you popped it I am sure it was a cyst rather than a lymph node. Lymph nodes are solid in nature not liquid filled. For you I assume that will turn out to be a good thing. I would still consult a Dr but I would not be as worried in the meanwhile.
