Just failed my road test- is this weird?

So I was taking my road test and the guy told me to parallel park next to this one car, but where i would have ended up being parked was in front of a driveway. I pointed this out to him, and he said that he knew and I should just act like it was a curb. So I parked and I was a little off so I went to correct myself, and there was another car behind me. The instructor told me to let her pass so I rolled down my window to wave her on and she was like "this is my driveway!" and so I had to pull out and let her in and didn't get to finish my park. Then at the end the guy told me I could have asked to park behind a different car if I had wanted to.

wtf? how was I supposed to know that? It just seems unfair.

It was a test. If you did not parallel park (part of the test), why would you pass? Now you know it is ok to ask questions and shouldn't have a problem on the next test. Look at it as practice.

I failed my swimming "River Rescue" exam because I was wearing goggles in the chlorinated pool.
Nobody told me to take them off.(we'd done all our lessons in goggles) ..and I wouldn't need to go find goggles before I jumped into an unchlorinated river!

Oh, and they were perscription goggles too!

MOSTLY one if the requirements is that you parallel park. its part of the test regardless of where you would park. it IS a little weird where he had you park because they usually do that part of the test at the actual MVD but he obvioulsy knew what he was doing and you obviously didnt do the right thing that he asked. sorry..youll be able to take it again... no big deal
