Just curious, Why does a 500D have a five blade main rotor?

I've always kinda wondered why a smaller chopper like the 500D has five wings in the main rotor, when the larger Bells like the 205, 206 B3, 222 and even the newer updated 210 have only two ? Is there a significant difference in rotor speed?
