Hi guys,
I'm so sorry I have been away for so long. Many of you know I was forced to go back to work and it has been quite the struggle. A few weeks after I started I was in a car accident and thankfully wasn't badly injured but it certainly didn't make matters any better. Working has been good and bad. Good in the sense that it is something normal back in my life. Bad because it is really unbearable after a few hours. The doc finally put me on breakthrough meRAB but they don't work AT ALL. Some sort of oxymorphone. I was shocked that it didn't work at all. I tried it 3 different times, different pain and still no results. I broke my clavical in the accident and no one would even consider MRI's for my back but my primary care doc did order deep tissue massage therapy for my cervical, mid and lurabar spine. I have to say that since the PLIF in May 06, I have deteriorated further in some areas. The massage therapist found them. Oh how painful it is to endure these sessions but overall it really has helped. It won't cure me but it is another method for pain control. When it is over, you feel much better. A few times I have been worse but several days later, much better. My spasms in my right leg have vanished for a while.
Dare I say it? She specializes in SI joint pain so she has really helped work it out. I still have the pain but not every single day now one end. I have it a week, then I don't, have it a few days then I don't etc. My lower back still hurts but my leg pain has been far worse lately than the back. It is a blessing to have found her. I will be seeing a new Neuro soon to see if there is anything I can do for the SI. Wish me luck. Fellow suffers, I urge you to try the deep tissue massage a few times to see if it helps you. Most are covered by your insurance. If they don't take insurance, don't go there.
Love to all,
Lisa
