i just gave sprint the old middle finger. long story short, i live and work in a mile and a half radius, i upgraded to an evo august 28. i can't get 4g at home or at work (where i spend 95% of my time) even tho the map says i should. thats not the issue, the issue is 3g speeds in my area are consistantly less than 100kbps. i might get 20kbps for example. i get a strong signal, 5 out of 6 bars. 3g speed are fine everywhere else. if i drive 4 miles away i get 800kbps. after 10 phone calls at an hour each and 2 trips to the sprint store they said my phone is fine, its a network issue. they said others were complaining about 3g speeds in my area. they sent an engineer to fix the network. no improvement. so i called to cancel my service with no etf. done.

so what are my options? i love the evo, i love the screen, i love the operating system. what other carriers offer an andoid phone with a large screen? i don't have to have a 4g phone just as long as 3g is faster than 20kbps.

Find a carrier that has the coverage you need where you live, work, travel and play. Then go to their store or website and see what phones they support and go from there.

There is always Verizon with its Droid X, whi\ch has a screen size that matches the EVO, and won't suck battery as much. Also awaiting confirmation of the Droid Incredible HD, which is like Desire HD or EVO for Verizon. With other carriers, there is T-Mobile with the Samsung Vibrant, G2 and MyTouch 4G. US Cellular has the HTC Desire. If you don't mind the 3.7" screen, the MyTouch 4G, G2 and the Droid 2 Global, which is just released, are contending for the top Android dog right now. If you have bought an EVO you sound like a power freak, and yes the specs on the Droid Global says 1.2Ghz.

Yes, I would follow DubDub's advice and do some research,
