does anyone of you guys use one of theese chargers?? this charger use one R6 (AA) battery to charge a phone, its small and good to have when the n95 battery dies...

just want to know if one R6 (AA) 2500mha battery can charge the n95 battery full?

I've seen things LIKE that one (not that one exactly) usually the ones I've seen hold multiple AA batteries... But I've never seen one with a "new" nokia tip (the tiny ones)... I've seen them for the older nokia tips - I think I've seen them at $1 stores!? Not sure if I'd want to trust that.

I use one of these with a CA-44 cable to charge my N80 (in emergencies).

Be warned though, as this charger works best with two alkaline or lithium AA batteries; NiMH batteries that have been sitting too long will not have sufficient voltage to activate the charger.

I haven't tried one of the single cell chargers yet.

Keep us updated on how that thing works. I guess just watch to see if it's fully charged when the bars stop scrolling, and how long the charge takes. I've been eyeing these lately. Where'd you get it at?

i have seen the energizer ones at wal-mart that run on 1 cell, but it makes me wonder how long it would actually last. i doubt you could charge a dead phone on 1 AA battery. especially since the charger input is around 5V and a new AA battery is at 1.5V, lol.

just got my charger.. im using wifi and video stream to drain the battery on my n95 and then im going to test to charge my n95 with a 2300mha rechargeable battery...

ill post the results when later on today =)

Nice posts keep it up. I would love to get one of these if it works. I have a long 11 hour flight coming up in a month and it would be nice to watch some TV Shows or Movies on the plane without the worry for battery life :)

Yes, I'm looking forward to the results of this also. This looks like it would be quite useful to keep in my laptop bag, for when I'm 'caught short' so to speak ;) That is if it works of course! :)

I used wifi and video streaming to kill the n95 battery ..

here are the specs:

its takes 3, 2300mha R6 batteries to charge the n95 full
the first battery charged up to 4 bars and the second battery charged to 6 bars and the third charged it full.

It takes 1 hours and 40 minutes to use one R6 2300mha battery so it takes about 4.5hours to charge the n95..

Will you be able to use the phone while charging it? Say I start watching some movie and have it plugged in to the travel charger. I assume battery used by the phone will be greater than charged so it wouldn't work out nicely ?

Another question, since this is using 1 AA battery, maybe there is other models with 2 or 3 batteries to make it more powerful ?

Thanks

I wonder if there are any circuits in that thing? or is it basically an adapter connected to the battery terminals?

I'm wondering if someone got a Car charger for example, chopped the end off and put it to a AA battery, would it charge? Hmm....

Thanks for sharing your results. :2thumbs:

It kind of depends how desperate you are for battery power, to decide whether it takes too long to charge. If you have forgotten to take your charger somewhere, this could prove invaluable to keep your battery going.
