Just bought Playstation 3. Better than Xbox 360?

I've heard about the rumored price drop for the PS3, but that's just that - rumors. In fact, we've heard the rumors for some time, but nothing yet. So I went ahead and bought the PS3 for the $399 price with a free $50 gift card at GameStop. I mainly play the EA Sports games, so do you think the PS3 is a good buy compared to the Xbox? The Blu-Ray is a plus I think.
You guys and girls are great. Thanks for the input. The guy at Gamestop said he heard that Sony is really doing bad and is fearful of the Playstation 3 being shelved. That's why I was worried.
 
the reliability of the PS3 is far better than the 360 nothing is worse than getting the RROD halfway through a game
 
its all preference.

but as of now 360 has more sports games(this caught me off guard, I expected it the other way around)

but TBA wise, PS3 will have more sports game.

so I'd say go with PS3.

ps3 is way better than xbox 360

the Blue Ray.. / No batteries for controls../ free internet, unlike xbox / better games.. just better..

what you need to do next.. is go buy the HDMI
 
Currently X-box 360 is better but that's just because game makers haven't fully utilized the PS3 Blue Ray Driver. Once they do the graphics on the PS3 are going to be a lot better than the X-box 360. Other than that the games are a lot similar but the game that's going to make me buy the PS3 is God of War 3. The God of War series is exclusive to the PS3 system and it's by far the best game I've ever played. The systems are going to drop in price but I don't think it's going to be huge until the next generations come out. However if you have a television that's not 1080P and if you don't have a HDMI cable you're not going to see huge change on graphics between the two systems. PS3 also has the Blue Ray driver which beat out the HD driver which is on X-box. So if you plan on watching movies on either system PS3 is the way to go. A good game to compare graphics on is Fight Night Round 3. I've included the link down below and the difference is obvious. On that game X-box clearly wins.
 
allow me to break it down a bit

PS3
-one of the best blu ray players on the market if not THE best (blu ray players with the same capabilities as the ps3’s run from 500-600 dollars)
-free online play
-rechargeable controllers
-VERY reliable and durable
-will have more games than the 360 at the end of 2009 (with bigger and better titles)
-online play is great
-amazing graphics
-great selection of games
-game discs are blue ray
-better graphics card and faster processor than 360
-only 0.2% defective rate after opened from box
-won best console of 2008
-built in free wifi
-double coated discs that protect it against scratches even from steel wool. (check the video on youtube, its impressive!).

360
-larger online community
-online costs money to use
-30% defective rate after opened from box (yes, 30!)
-breaks down and creates the ring of death (scoring of the discs until they arent readable)
-amazing graphics
-great selection of games
-has HD DVD player (which is obsolete and useless because they only make Blu Ray DVDs, not HD DVDs.)
-not cheaper than the ps3. wifi adapter is 100 bucks and 1 year of online is 50 ($150 added to any bill)

Dont waste your time with an xbox they will just break. i have owned both for a long time and the PS3 is by far the better choice. so its 100 dollars more...big deal. you get a larger hard drive and an amazing blu ray player. dont listen to bias people. you will get xbox lovers saying how the ps3 is junk. they are beyond ignorant. they are both amazing but the ps3 triumphs.
 
PS3 is better in graphics but they both similar. IMO, a very good pc smokes both of them.
 
the blu ray on the ps3 is the second best in the market, so that a great buy (ps3 sells at a deficit because they know they'll sell gmaes. Its blue ray player could be $500 on its own)

game and online wise, its not QUITE as good, but thats me being picky because I play too many games. the PS3 has many of the 360s best games (fallout 3, dead space, sports games, etc.) and some great titles of its own (LBP, MGS4, both game of the year nominees and winners). The PS3 also has a lesser failure rate and costs nothing to play online

All in all, its tied for me. I play my 360 more, but I have both.

Personally i think an Xbox 360 is better.
The graphics are better on ps3 but if you look at it carefully and compared with an Xbox 360, The graphics on a ps3 is worse, it actually just has better lighting/contrast than an Xbox. Yes, Blu-ray is a plus, but you can just buy a Blu-ray player instead. And it probably won't burn out like a ps3. You can buy movies off Xbox Live, but it isn't blu-ray. And if you are a gamer which you probably are, games on an Xbox 360 are WAY WAY WAY WAY Better than Ps3 Games.
