just bought a 2002 jeep cherokee... now i have a problem with the front diff pinion....?

and they are telling me that its not a necessity to run the car so they are not obligated to fix it under my warrenty... i literally JUST bought the truck 3 days ago... Y wouldnt they fix it under the warrenty????
