Just curious to see how many haters come out for both sides. I always read peoples responses saying one sucks or the other. Since I respect both players skill levels but don't particularly care for one as a person, lets post a stat and see the responses. In the matter of being a clutch player, most people say Kobe is the way to go. I wonder how much research has been put into this thought. From the start of the 2002 NBA season until now, in terms of game winning shots, meaning shots made in the final possesion, or last 24 seconds, Lebron has 17, Kobe has 14. Lebron has missed 33, Kobe has missed 42. Of all players in the NBA who have taken a shot in the last 24 seconds, Kobe has the most misses. Lebron has 6 assists, Kobe has 1. Lebron has 4 turnovers, Kobe has 5. So, now armed with that information, who would you take in the final 24 seconds of a game? Surely you can't argue a fact, yet some will. And don't throw out the stupid a** arguement of how many championships does Lebron have. Kobe's championships have come at the hands of many great teammates. Give some real and educated reasons of who you take please.
Lakersarekewl: You made my point exactly. What I said about championships is won by 12 people, that's why Kobe has the rings. Look at the teammates who have surrounded him vs the teammates who have surrounded Lebron.
FC Lakers: I know he has more, those stats are from the 2002 season on, Kobe played before Lebron started the League. The point of the stats were to show that since 2002, Kobe isn't the most clutch. Lebron, Vince Carter, and Ray Allen all have more game winners with a better shot percentage than Kobe.
There was an NBA: D-Wades stats are 11 of 40 game winners. I should have put him in the debate as well, love watching him, another great player. The source was a website I found called 82games.com.
