Very happy to find this place....its already helped me with some planned projects on my new 1098S I was given for my birthday by my wife last month! I am a fresh 60 and was feeling down as there is no way to say 60 that does not sound old. Since the gift I can say everything past 60 will be a BLUR!

Been a Ducati owner since 1960 when I carried newspapers on a 125 Bronco...what a sight!

I dirt track raced back in the early seventies in the 250 and 350 classes on Desmo single (I was never a threat to anyone but myself but had fun).

Currently own:
1098S
1973 GT 750 (original owner w/ 3000 miles)
1971 450 RT (second owner)
1969 350 Desmo (second owner and my old race bike and a rebuild project currently under way)
1968 350 Spring Head Mk 3 (third owner, extra box motor w/motor mods)

My son owns:
Monster 996 SR4
350 Spring Head Scrambler w/motor mods
 
Welcome newest geriatric knee dragger (just kidding). Don't worry about the number, just check Cloudrider's activities. 48 years of Ducati ownership just might be a record for this forum. Nice collection by the way.
 
Yes - welcome ol fella. Good to see you're still young at heart and what a wonderfully supportive wife you must have, wow - what a present!!!

I can't wait for you to fill an album with pictures of your 'older' rides. Don't be shy.
 
Yeah that's pretty cool man. I'm still gonna be riding when I'm 60 I hope. You only as old as you feel. and if you wanna feel real good about your self just tune into the new bike new chick thread and post a pic of your self. Legs would appreciate it.
 
Welcome Gomer. We could all wish to turn 60 and to receive a 1098 from one's wife as a birthday gift. Awesome.

This bike will certainly keep you fit, alert and on your toes. Here's to many more years of safe riding for you!
 
Sorry to be slow in responding and thanks to the nice comments on my post. My son and I have been in East Tenn the past week having fun on the twisties and it was certainly great. I had forgotten how great the roads are in my homeland of Tenn compared to be sandblasted in Florida and burnt alive from the Sun!

We even made a video like like one can see on YOUTUBE, filming the curvy activities! Luckily no encounters with the "MAN" or the ground, lol.

I will fill out that album on this site as soon as I get recovered from being away fom work for a week.

I use to be in Civil engineering all my life in one form or the other but now own and run a Artifact Restoration Business, "Lithic Art Restoration" (another life long hobby I have is the hunting and finding of Indian artifacts). My hobby has now become my business and its our 6th year of full time work in that arena. I get to play the music as loud as I want, wear shorts and T-shirts and drink a beer anytime I wish. Just a few of the perks I have now compared to being a "cube" person all my life.

I have planned for a long time to have a section on my business web site of past bikes, boats and cars that I have been through, mainly for my personal enjoyment.

There is a section started there but mid-stream I decided to change the way its presented and honestly other things have gotten in the way and stole my time doing what I envision. Should have really never included it until it was done, none of the links are set up so only a few thumbnails to see at this time.

This may be illegal on this site and certainly not trying to sell anything, advertise or look for any business, but here is a link to what we do on the 8 am to ? pm days making a living and the poorly planned section I have started so far with thumbnails. Most folks looking at the few thumbnails they see thinks something is wrong with the pictures. I was being artsy fartsy using negative type pics. In the future it will have to be normal pics to please most folks....thanks again for the kind words.

Welcome aboard. I don't consider 60 "old", with any luck I'll get there and still be riding a Ducati.

One of my riding buddies is Jack, he's 72 and can smoke most guys through the twisties on his 1098S.
