just a basic flip phone with good phonebook and large screen

i just want a phone for my dad and doesn't need camera or anything at all
all he needs is a flip phone with large screen (or large font for easy reading) and a smart phonebook.
He tired of the Motorola phonebook where he have to find someone name start with T...press the number 8 and have to go all the way down to find the name
want something we can press T and wait a second and press U...then all ppls start with TU will be on the list.
i know my SDA have the best phonebook but he doesn't want something too complicate....
just a flip phone, big screen or font and a must have easy to search phonebook

If you have a newer moto (like the K1 or the V3i as opposed to the V3), you can go to "Phonebook" hit the middle menu Key, then select the "Setup" option and change the search method from "Jump to" to "Find". Then you can do multi-letter searches.
 
Well the KRZR K1 is a redesign of the V3. It's basically a narrower version of the RAZR, although it's still a clamshell, it looks significantly different from the V3. The V3i looks much more like the V3 though there are some nuances that set it apart.

You can also look at the PEBL U6, has the same features as the V3 but in a more rounded shape.

You can also do a search though phonescoop. Since there are so many clamshells out there already i took the liberty of filtering them for you based on key features like GSM 850 for roaming in North America, Bluetooth, etc.
